Kissey Asplund

Tina Asplund, better known as Kissey (formerly Kissey Asplund) is proof that myspace has changed the world. Asplund hooked up with Paris-based beatmakers Papa Jazz via the online community and a whirlwind followed.

Taking her cues from artists like Erykah Badu and Vikter Duplaix, Kissey melds genres with an understated yet quirky jazz delivery over butter smooth lounge beats and broken beat electronica. Her debut album ‘Plethora’ has been creating a stir around the globe, heralding the emergence of a new star in the world of electronic soul.

Kissey was born in Sweden to a Swedish father and a Grenadian mother.

Kissey released her first full-length album, Plethora, produced by Papa Jazz, on R2 Records in 2008. She has collaborated with many other producers and artists such as Zed Bias (Maddslinky), Jay Scarlett, Dorian Concept, Domu, Blu, Ben Mono, Rustie, Machinedrum, and Rampa, resulting in numerous releases as a featured vocalist. She is rumored to be working on her second album (title and label unknown).
