Twaine - A World in Change

Soul came from gospel. It was born from suffering and gave heart and hope. In light of the heartbreaking events in our home city Stockholm last week we could all use some spiritual re-connection.

Directly touching at my soul is the single - A Gospel by the Swedish band Twaine.

'A Gospel' was first released on the Japanese compilation album 'We -Songs of Hope-', and all royalties went directly to the people affected by the catastrophe in Fukushima, Japan, 2011. The single also features on their new album - A World in Change.

VIDEO: Baba Soul brings original soul

Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Funk and a hint of reggae combine with Baba Soul and the Professors of Funk in their official debut/video single - If You Love Me.

The charming video introduces us the smartly dressed, dreadlocked singer who sounds like a combination of James Brown and modern soul legend Charles Bradley.

'It's time to be free' sings Charlotte Dos Santos as the single 'Red Clay' draws to an end. It's also an encapsulating description to her incredibly enchanting bond-esque video directed by Marina Oriente.

The Norwegian singer, who we unbelievably once described as shy, takes centre stage and is utter captivating, confident and naked throughout the video for this dreamy single.

Public Secret won't be a secret for long

The debut single from Copenhagen-based future soul band, Public Secret - Tears (To Water Her Roses) is the first beacon to what we feel will become a shining soul light.

Inspired by the sounds of Bilal, Andersen Park, Frank Ocean, D'Angelo and Thundercat, Tears (To Water Her Roses) is a beautifully titled, lyrically engaging track. Deftly produced by Lush Reality, the tight soulful rhythm builds to a dynamic and passionate crescendo.

Released with the digital track is a creative music video, filmed and directed by band members Ölle Häggberg and August Campeotto. In the video hooded lead singer Bobby Bovell (who we discovered as a solo singer) meanders against the backdrop of Copenhagen's futuristic urban architecture.
From the country with the unique and beautiful fjords emerges new Norwegian singer Amanda Kamara with her debut soulful/pop single - Limbo

The track introduces us to her organic sound as she makes her first official release for a global melomaniac* audience.

With her own music, and in her own words Limbo expresses Amanda's feeling of being unable to escape from the situation she's in.
After a period of relative quiet, Swedish producer Red Astaire (aka. Freddie Cruger) knows how to make an entrance.

Best known for a number of killer tracks such as; Follow Me, Running From Love, and his collaborations with Linn (Waiting for Spring), the hugely admired producer has returned with the soulful vocals of American singer, Coco Rouzier and worked his magic.

The result is stunning, sublime and mesmerising mellow.

It's an immediately captivating sound that will transport you to a stylish bar with an ice-cold cocktail and thoughts of a lost love.
Former deep house producer, Jonathan Ryno tries his hand on the other side of the mixing desk and releases his debut single - Bluff & Båg, today.

With a hint of humour, Bluff & Båg (basically, means - Bogus) is soul-ish in tone, laid back and smooth. We're stating the obvious but this Swedish sung track feels Swedish too, and we can imagine Swedes singing along with the catchy chorus.
