I'm a South Londoner now living in Sweden. I'm also a part-time DJ/ founder of Urbanlife Radio and co-founder of Scandinavian Soul. Music has always been my soundtrack to life and although I listen to everything, soul is always in my playlist.

Norwegian band D’Sound are celebrating 20 years in the music business. This in itself is a notable achievement, but the trio's consistently high level of soulful/pop grooves is also something to celebrate.

They continue their successful career with an instantly enjoyable groove filled release 'If you Don't Know' which debuted on Norwegian TV2.

VIDEO: Black Dylan - Get Up Child

Hangovers.

You know the feeling.

If not, imagine a parade of Elephants playing football with your brain while trying to solve a cryptic crossword!

Humour has never been far from the dynamic Danish duo Black Dylan either. In their latest video Record players float through the air, and multiple versions of the band appear while singer Wafande tries to regain his composure after a night of indulgences.

The black and white video for this cool soulful track - Get Up Child fits the song's theme perfectly.

Live or recorded, Norwegian band Rohey are jazzy, soulful, daring and utterly captivating.

In a recently posted video, we see a live performance of their second single - I Found Me, at Rockefeller, Oslo in front of a packed crowd.

I'll never get used to being on the other side.

The interrogated instead of an interrogator.

Anyone would think I don't like being interviewed. I do, and in the capable hands of Fabian Hansen, it's also fun.

I just feel so awkward!

Beldina covers Lil Waynes - How 2 Luv

Beldina, who recently signed to Kanye West - G.O.O.D. Management, embraces the LA warmth where she currently resides and continues to produce music full of lush vocals with provocative lyrics.

The Swedish singer caught our ears and eyes attention with a series of sumptuous R&B tracks, an impressive debut EP 'Intermission' and visually compelling videos (What Can I Say, Breathe In, Ocean). The captivating songstress emanates sexual confidence. However, it shouldn't distract you from her mesmerizing vocals. Her recently uploaded single - How 2 Luv, is a perfect reminder.

Feridah Rose brings an uplifting spirit

A warm, feel-good factor emerges through the dark and gloomy global climate with Feridah Roses' new video for the single - Njabala.

The Danish-Ugandan singer combines influences from her roots with modern sounds to produce an uptempo single featuring African rhythms and the singer’s mother tongue, Luganda.

Njabala is the title track from her recently released EP and takes a traditional Ugandan song, but reimagines the lyrics as a call to freedom. It is a hopeful celebratory song about being free to dream and inspire.

Sweedest mix of soul sung in Swedish

Regular visitors to our site may find many of the tracks we feature are sung in English though is not by intention. The Swedes, for example, have been devoted soul and style lovers for years and many excellent tracks are currently residing unloved in vinyl crates. And despite what non-Scandinavians may feel are 'incomprehensible lyrics,' native sung tracks from across the Nordics are just as accessible and enjoyable.

We've discovered a selection of 'old-skool' Swedish sung grooves on Mixcloud compiled by DJ Olof Karlstrand, ’Sweedest Sounds Vol. 24 - Soul På Svenska’, sprinkled with recognisable soul cover versions.

Who knows, by the end of the mix you may also say it's 'Bra.'
