Loidimo - Thousand Million Times

Swedish soul singer Loidimo's new single 'Thousand Million Times', is out now on Golden Cuts.

'Thousand Million Times*' has a touch of 90's R&B vibes fused with modern pop. Exquisitely produced by Loidimo, Kasper Lindgren, and Martin Påhlsson the single has echoes of Timberlake and Usher.

"The song is about being cheated on by your girl and realising that you are better off without her." says Loidimo,

*contains strong language

24-year-old Swedish singer, Lova releases her new single - Ta På Mig (Take On Me). The Swedish sung track also features guest rapper Conakry.

Written by Lova (Lova Drevstam), the core of this R&B song contains a serious message.

Norwegian DJ Reggie Got Beats teams up with Rohey Taalah for the second time to produce another hot summer Disco groove - Round & Round.

The first collaboration produced a dancefloor filler - On The floor, and this release continues their ethos of addictive house grooves, perfect for the sunshine.

The Napkins are Genuine

Is it just me or do so many pop artists sound very similar?

And in fact, where are all the bands?

Good question, I'm sure you'd agree. However, I'm not going to start disassembling the music business and demonstrate how the major corporations have a monopoly on all commercial music. That's a discussion for another day.

However, I do want to talk about a band who've released their new EP Genuine, and a singer who's voice cannot be mistaken for anyone else.

The band are The Napkins with lead vocals by Charlotta Kerbs.

Reverse lights on Adée - Addicted

On our quest to find the latest soul music from across Scandinavia we usually fill the tank with premium grade and travel at 130km/per hr. Naturally, therefore, from time to time we miss writing, reviewing or listening to all the new soulful releases. In a desire to address this I'm pressing the brakes, backing up and taking the time to check them out, slowly.

So, with our Scandi Soul Mustang parked outside our favourite night spot in Stockholm, I recline in the leather seats, press play on the album - Addicted, and shine our reverse lights on Adée.

In recent years Producers / Beat Makers have become as well as the artists they work with. They play an ever important role in modern music and the songs we love. Like a Classical music composer, these creators build the foundations of tempo, sound and instrumentation, and often invite artists to feature on their musical creations.

We first heard Swedish producer Jimmy Kuf production on his debut track 'Spela Roll'. A wonderfully mellow, Swedish sung track that resonated with our soul loving ears. We spoke to Jimmy (Jimmy Agvén) to discover more about him and his music.

Norwegian singer Amanda Kamara brings her soulful/pop sound to speakers and now to screen with her debut video - Limbo.

Directed by Emil Wahl, the video captures Amanda against the beautiful backdrop of Norwegian nature, graffiti-styled murals and in the springtime sunshine.

Saint Cava take it Deeper on new single

Duos seem to be at the forefront of the new R&B sound in the Nordics, and Danish duo Saint Cava continue to demonstrate the impressive results a soulful vocalist and a skilled producer can create.

Since their debut, Saint Cava, Andreas Vasegaard, Erika de Casier, have turned heads with their dark R&B beats, soulful lyrics, matched with intriguing videos. Their new track 'Deeper', continues that theme. 'Deeper' opens gently before a deliciously deep bassline kicks in, and the sweet haunting vocals synonymous with Saint Cava draws you in.

Make no mistake, UK soul lovers love their music, and they know a great track when they hear it.

Coco Rouzier and Swedish producer Freddie Cruger aka Red Astaire recently released a 7" single with a stunning A & B side, and the demand for it has quickly grown, making it one of the most sought after vinyls in the UK.
We're not going to pretend this is anything but Jazz.

However, it's hard to deny there's a whole lot of soul in US singer/poet Dean Bowman vocals. Together with an exquisite Finnish production, it steers this track directly into our waters.
