New video: Baba Soul & The Professors of Funk - I GOT SOUL

Written by

Baba Soul and the Professors of Funk is a Norwegian band of eight musicians: guitar, bass, drums, tenor saxophone trombone, trumpet and percussion led by the charismatic and energetic Baba Soul (Hugo Pereira).

You could be right in thinking he’s the son of Soul Legends Charles Bradley or James Brown, but the soulful vocals are all his own even if some of his moves are inherited.

Together with his band they have been experimenting with classical groove with the aim to bring old school funk and soul back to its righteous glory.

The ultimate goal for Baba Soul and the Professors is essentially a rather simple one, ’give the people what they want’.

We’ve followed Baba Soul for a while and we are in no doubt that those who have seen the band live have become enchanted by their enthusiasm, passion and interpretation of the old masters of funk and soul.

This is their first 'official' video and confirms Baba Soul has indeed got Soul!
