Finland’s soul pioneer Tuomo follows swiftly on from his album 'The New Mystique', released earlier this year, with a new EP 'Polar Night'.

Well, the Finnish winters must certainly feel warmer with Tuomos soulful vocals on Polar Night, one of his best releases of the year!

Tuomo also delivers a visual interpretation of the title track and the video certainly lives up to his constant drive of creativity.

The 4-track EP Polar Nights contains the songs: Polar Night, TrashGodBaby, Keep Looking Up - Recue Remix and Polar Night - Radio Edit.

Available now on Spotify, lovers of Prince should take this EP as a jump-on-point to discover Tuomo’s colourful musical world too.

After reviewing music from Finland over the years, I can conclude that Finnish soul artists always give 100%. There is no midpoint to aspire to. They’re passionate about music, so it’s all or nothing.

Finnish soul began with Quintessence, became established with Tuomo, and grew with Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators, Dolla Lova, Humus and The Napkins, to name but a few. All have all set the standard, and it’s a high one.

With a beautifully designed vinyl album, a CD and a live DVD (yes, a live DVD) to accompany his latest release, Nothing Can Stop My Spirit, it’s clear that Mikko Pettinen is another passionate Finnish music creator, too.
