The Magnolia's debut album to be released in July

Written by

The anticipation for Gothenburg-based band The Magnolia's debut album has been high even before the Swedish band won their recent Scandinavian Soul Music Award (Best Band 2014).

Now the wait is almost over with the album 'First Time' official release date set for July 25, 2015, on the record label SwingKids.

Believe us when we say there is no band quite like The Magnolia.

The lead vocals of the duo Arvid Nero, Albin Meldau is what sets this band apart. Together they combine with the bands technical and musical perfection to create a distinctive soulful tenderness with a natural blues feeling.
It’s a sound reminiscent of Memphis / Stax blended with soul, pop, blues and rock - Southern soul, Scandinavian style!

The album was recorded at The stora vilans studio by Thomas Frank, produced by Erik Berndtsson & Gabriel Castro, and mastered by Henryk Lipp, We’ve not heard if it’s expected on vinyl, however vinyl records were designed for a sound like The Magnolias.

We’re sure this is the best band you’ve never heard.

Listen out for the track: Stormy Weather.
