Eddie and the Lovemakers - 360° Session

Written by

Swedish band, Eddie and the Lovemakers, blew us away with their 2014 debut EP of the same name. The EP’s raw, old-school soul and impassioned vocals were both honest and enthralling.

Now we get to take a centre stage with the band thanks to exciting 360° camera technology. Use the arrows at the top of the video to look around while Eddie Hultén delivers all of his soulful intensity, even when the Mic stand tries to run away!

Filmed in the Rosebeat Studios, it's quickly building a reputation as ’Stockholms soul home', since bands such as The Northern Lights and Combo De La Musica also record there.

Listen to 'Good time Joe' on spotify, and we strongly recommend seeing this band live!

Eddie Hultén, Simon Eby - guitar,  Axel Fagerberg - percussion, Henrik Uggla - drums, Tomas Sjödell - bass, Henning Ullén - trumpet, Egil Lindvall - alto and Joel Karlsson - tenor. Sound by John Runefelt, mixed by Simon Eby.

  • Introducing Eddie & the Lovemakers

Whilst in the midst of the Scandinavian Soul Music Awards preparations, we received an email from a Stockholm-based band, who had somehow slipped through our music radar. Regular readers will know that this sadly can happen from time-to-time, despite my best soul searching efforts.

The band’s name hinted to the musical direction we could expect; however, it’s all about the sound. Eddie & the Lovemakers' self-titled debut EP was released in 2014 and proves, once again, soul music in Scandinavia is very much alive, and it's going from strength to strength.
