Video premiere: Emelinda - Scream and Shout

Written by
Out today is Swedish singer/songwriter Emelinda second single 'Scream and Shout' - a powerful Gospel/soul ballad that gives a voice not just for her, but for all women of the world.

The song was inspired by a disagreement between her and her former lover and the lyrics soon began to reflect many others, especially women, and their right to react to their feelings.

Emelinda thinks it is important to remind people of a woman´s right to speak out, their right to say no and act on their feelings without being condemned for doing so.

When it was time for Emelinda to record the video it felt natural to return to her roots and her home village in the north of Sweden.

”Up here I feel like home in mind and soul, surrounded by the environment and nature. I knew that there were a lot of strong women up there that would put up their hands if they had something to say, women from different cultures, different ages and with different destinies”.

"The song has affected a lot of people, and I hope that it reaches out to as many as possible. That is why I do what I do," says Emelinda.

'Scream and Shout' has a unifying gospel core that's uplifting, passionate and emotive.

”I write about stories I want to tell, and I make it easy for you to listen”- Emelinda
