In recent years Producers / Beat Makers have become as well as the artists they work with. They play an ever important role in modern music and the songs we love. Like a Classical music composer, these creators build the foundations of tempo, sound and instrumentation, and often invite artists to feature on their musical creations.

We first heard Swedish producer Jimmy Kuf production on his debut track 'Spela Roll'. A wonderfully mellow, Swedish sung track that resonated with our soul loving ears. We spoke to Jimmy (Jimmy Agvén) to discover more about him and his music.

Nosizwe gets fragmented feelings

Written by

'Sho! That was many questions!' wrote Nosizwe in her reply to me.

I’m sure there was humour in her words though.

Having requested an interview with the Norwegian/South African singer, I have to admit to being incredibly intrigued and interested to know more abut the shaven headed singer. It might have lead to some over penmanship...

A majority of new visitors to our site usually arrive with a pre-conceived idea of what they’ll discover. However, throughout Scandinavia the chords, the melody and the essence of soul has been translated and evolved via a new generation of artists and bands. One such band is Furns. When I first heard the Danish duo I was immediately taken by their unmistakable smooth, soulful vocals with a dreamy and melancholic sound.

With their second album due to be released this week I spoke to Furns, Monika Faludi and Mathias Dahl Andreasen, to discover more about them and their music.

The unusually warm winter weather before Christmas not only caused the flowers to bloom early, but soul music in Scandinavia also seems to have had a growth spurt as we continue to discover new artists, even as we head towards the end of 2015.

Swedish singer Emilie de Paula is one such artist who’s soul/blues voice has already been causing a stir in the Swedish soul underground. In January, the Gothenburg based singer will launch her debut songs.

As a pre-teaser, we have an exclusive video of her track 'Stone', filmed by ‪Haroun Hajem‬ - one of the rising visual artists in Sweden.
