Track 3, ‘Something About You’, is a thumpingly good track - simply brilliant. The hypnotic bass makes it the best on the album for me, and should satisfy all soul/R&B lovers. Unfortunately, what is unforgivable about the track is the vocal volume drop during the break. I really don't understand why Ele disappears there, and this causes a major subtraction to what is otherwise an A1 track.
’Old School Love’ also stands out with a smooth beat and a nicely made video, directed by Peter Mott, to accompany it.
Essentially, there is nothing wrong with the complete album, but production idiosyncrasies really don't help when competition is so tough. It takes a little something extra to stand out like Kamilia Amélie, and sadly I can't quite hear it yet.
However, if an extended release of ‘Something About You’ should ever come to light, it would go a long way to bringing this elegant singer to a wider audience and add some extra class to the Scandinavian Soul charts!
