Marie Dahlstrøm - Without Our Time

Written by

Just released is Marie Dahlstrøm (DK) new single 'Without Our Time' produced by Alfa Mist. This is her first original song since her excellent debut EP Feelings and I'm pleased to say it doesn't disappoint.

The Danish singer's smooth tone is unmistakable to those now familiar with her sound, and it is this exact uniqueness which has helped establish Marie amongst the sea of upcoming singers. The production is tight and the piano keys underlay everything superbly allowing you to drift away in the combination of subtle tones.

I know she's currently working on an experimental project in Jazz and other sounds and we can expect to hear more on this soon. Would I like to hear Marie on something a little more uptempo? Perhaps, but she does this laid-back soulful sound so well that I'm in no hurry to hear it just yet. Right now I'll just kick back and enjoy.

'Without Our Time' is also available for FREE download check it out and comment below.

Cards on the table, I was a late-comer to the whole soul-blues-jazz axis of music.

It’s not as if I was actively avoiding it, its more that there is only so much time in the day and probably something to do with comfort zones too, if I’m honest. And whilst I enjoy doing my homework to fill in the musical gaps via revolutionary protest funk, slick west-coast jazz-rockers and incendiary and intricate electric blues slingers, it is in the quieter and more considered moments that I often find the greatest pleasures. It is why Marie Dahlstrom’s new e.p. has been a constant soundtrack for a while now.
