Andy Pfeiler - Brain Boogie

The Nils Landgren Funk Unit sideman’s fifth album has plenty to say about what we are doing to the planet and what we are doing to each other but does so in a way that exudes hope for the future.

Snoh Aalegra - Feels

Snoh Aalegra is proof, if proof were needed, that the cooler Scandinavian climes and the rain-soaked London streets can also influence music in a positive way.

Marie Dahlstrøm - WHERE THE FLOWERS GROW

We may be in October however, summer isn't over yet as a feeling of warm days, and gentle breezes emanate from Marie Dahlstrøms’ new single - Where the Flowers Grow.

'Where the Flowers Grow,' is the second single, which follows her upcoming EP’s first release, 'anymore.'

We don’t think Marie Dahlstrom has released a less than excellent single yet, and her latest track is no exception.

Based in London, the award winning singer, who has worked with numerous producers such as;  Mawhs, Les Loups and D.K. the Punisher, continues her winning strategy with One More Reason which has drawn compliments such as ‘beautiful and amazing’.

The Evolution of Marie Dahlstrom Continues

Incredibly, some people don’t believe in evolution. I do, and I’m listening to the evidence. Triple award-winner Marie Dahlstroms’ new single is another sign of her consistent musical development.

Danish singer Jonas announces SSMA dates

Jonas, one of Denmarks leading soul pioneers, comes to Sweden to perform at the Pre-Award and Scandinavian Soul Music Awards, on February 25 / 26.

Triple SSoul Award winner Marie Dahlstrom is coming to Sweden for her first performance in Sweden at the Scandinavian Soul Music Awards 2015 in Feburary. The hard-working Danish singer, who’s released a consistent stream of real quality soul music over the past three years, will be accompanied by the relatively unknown, yet excellent Swedish band Twentyninesouls.

Scandinaviansoul.com triple Award winner Marie Dahlstrom finds another perfect male singer (Jeremy Passion) to compliment her on the brand new track Forget me Nots - a cover version of the classic 1982 track by Patrice Rushen.

SOULFULNESS with Marie Dahlstrom

Best Album (Gloom EP), Best Video (What's it gonna be) and Artist of the Year 2013.

Not a bad list of Awards to receive, and all were given to Danish singer Marie Dahlstrom who was able to attend our very first Scandinavian Soul Music Award Night on the 26th of February in Uppsala, Sweden.

Having Marie in attendance made the evening extra special, especially being able to witness her reaction each time her name was announced.

Before she returned to the UK the next morning we met up with Marie to talk about music, and her reaction to having won three awards.

Scandinavian Soul Festival 2013

Everything I'd hoped for... and then some

Well, I'm in a rather strange position. As a co-organiser of the event I'm not able to review the performances but I can give you a written, photographic, and even video overview.

The festival was the result of over two years of research and development by scandinaviansoul.com and Thomas Østergaard, theatre director who saw, and took the opportunity to support the artists at Horsens Ny Teater.

Horsens is probably a place you've never heard of before reading this, and you wouldn't be alone, but for those who made the three hour train journey from Copenhagen to the small town of Horsens I'm sure would agree...it was so worth it!
