SOWECO - Keep On

SOWECO has already laid down a solid reputation for creating music which weaves smooth jazz-infused vibes through soulful grooves. Their new album does take a bit of finding, however, once you do track it down, you are in for a real treat.

Marie Dahlstrom - Nine EP

It is in the quieter and more considered moments that I often find the greatest pleasures. It is why Marie Dahlstrom’s new e.p. has been a constant soundtrack for a while now.

The Band Called Oh - Guerrilla Gardening

An album built around the concept of Guerrilla Gardening, a movement that sought to improve the urban decay of 60’s New York is certainly a brave and fascinating idea. We took a listen to the Norwegian band's new album.

Tomi Malm - Walkin’ On Air

When you have spent the last twenty years building a solid reputation as a composer, arranger, orchestrator, and producer on a multitude of successful records, TV themes and multimedia scores, there is only one logical thing to do next. Release your own debut solo album.

And that is exactly what Walkin’ On Air is, a chance for the Finnish creator Tomi Malm to work without any brief, restrictions or considerations and the result is a glorious collection of songs that range from elegant jazz-infused pop grooves, smokey funk boogies, emotive and soaring ballads and a host of creative genre fusions.

Following on from their memorably Nordic dark R&B debut - Nectar, the Finnish/Dutch duo return with a new single, with a new sound - Mitwa.

Despite the somewhat 'creepy' looking image, the 'golden boy' represents a more playful side to their R&B flavour.

The lighter sound retains a deep, hypnotic bass, so infectiously good its hard to sit still.

Finnish singer/trumpeter Mikko Pettinen & Happy People release a funky new single/video Dance Away - out June 3rd, 2017.

Founded in Helsinki in 2013, Mikko Pettinen & Happy People have made it their mission to give listeners positive energy and spread the message of soul and funk music with a taste of jazz and pop.

Humus - A desire for soul

A couple kiss, slowly, longingly, and passionately. The camera remains fixed, focused on the pair as their mouths explore one another and their hands gently stroke and caress their bare skin.

This was exactly how we first discovered the Finnish duo group Humus (Heikki/Tiia) in 2013 with the sensual video which features lead singer Tiia and her real-life partner in a soulful version of the ‘Whole Lotta love’ classic, originally sang by Led Zeppelin.
