Get your popcorn ready. Norwegian sibling duo Hella the Movie live up to their name from the very first seconds, as their debut single On My Way unfolds more like a film soundtrack than a standard single.
Siblings Frida and Gard Songstad Hella, hailing from the idyllic Norwegian mountain town of Geilo, arrive with a soulful debut built on space, warmth and a graceful ease.
As the guitar-led track opens, it creates a three-dimensional sound stage where harmonious vocals slowly emerge and carry you along.
The smoothness of this single cannot be understated. Dreamy without slipping into wistfulness, the folk, soulful elegance and emotional honesty pull you in quickly. It feels instantly immersive, as if time slows down, encouraging you to close your eyes and drift into pure escapism.
‘On My Way‘ is a song about longing, vulnerability, and the desire to be truly seen and understood, explained Hella the Movie. It explores connection to other people, to ourselves, and to the parts of life that make us feel whole.
Musical siblings are not as uncommon in music as one might think, with names like Billie Eilish, The Carpenters, and the Scandinavian soul sibling duo The Endorphins. There is often a distinct chemistry between two musicians sharing a common language, and here that connection feels very present.

‘On My Way’ is the first glimpse of their forthcoming debut EP, Biorhythm, due in autumn 2026. It is produced by soul artist and producer Ann Weberg and Ole Petter Oras Ålgård (Spellemann-nominated for Nom de Guerre), and was written in the aftermath of losing their father.
Music with this kind of graceful depth, heart and soul should not be overlooked.
Follow Hella the Movie. We can already tell they’ll make hella good music!
