A warm piano loop welcomes listeners into the world of Norwegian groove masters D’Sound’s latest single, ‘Unfold Me’. The chorus alone is likely to have you singing along within minutes and possibly annoying the neighbours!
The new single explores what it means to be seen truly, and how that can feel both comforting and unsettling at the same time. Unfold Me tells the story of someone pulled out of social isolation by someone who refuses to give up on them. Someone who helps “unfold” a person who has turned inward and shut the door on the world.
Over the years, D’Sound have mastered the art of crafting soulful singles that feel fresh while still carrying their unmistakable musical identity. Their music rarely feels repetitive, which has kept them relevant across generations.
New to D’Sound?
Then you’ve got some catching up to do!
Following a handful of recent singles with the original lineup, ‘Unfold Me’ marks the trio’s first release of 2026. Simone Eriksrud, Kim Ofstad and Jonny Sjo lean fully back into the classic D’Sound formula here, groove-led, melodic and effortlessly addictive.
The single also arrives with a visually polished music video (see above) directed, filmed and edited by Simen M. Eriksrud, one half of the Norwegian EDM duo SEEB and husband of D’Sound vocalist and songwriter Simone Eriksrud.
This year also marks 30 years since D’Sound released their breakthrough single ‘Real Name’. It became one of the most-played songs on Norwegian radio in 1996 before their debut album, Spice of Life, in 1997.
The band will also perform a select run of concerts across Norway this year, including dates in Kristiansand, 17th June, – Arendal, 24th July, – Drøbak, 15th August, ending with a finale gig and special event at SALT in Oslo, 12th September.
‘Unfold Me’ once again demonstrates why D’Sound’s blend of jazz, pop, and R&B continues to resonate decades later. Don’t miss your chance to see one of Scandinavia’s most iconic bands live!
