Danish newcomer Rosa Raye arrives with a sweet and sparkling fusion of R&B and pop on her debut release – Living Spree.
Catchy, with tropical undertones, the track presents an independent fun-loving, young woman who is not the type to ‘slap you in your face‘, as the lyrics reveal. Written and created in collaboration with producer/guitarist Christian Refer, Living Spree has more bubbles than a Dom Pérignon!
Rosa Raye’s distinctive vocal strength disguises her petite height.
Finding inspiration from the new generation of R&B/Alternative artists like SZA, Amber Mark, H.E.R., Kehlani and Mahalia, Rosa Raye, who is in her early 20’s, is just 160 cm – in trainers!
Living Spree is Rosa Raye’s first release as an independent artist since leaving her former record label Sony Music Denmark.
The singer/songwriter felt the label wasn’t the right fit, though she learned a lot from the experience, and particularly to trust her intuition.
‘I’m 100% in charge of the project and vision, and I’m so excited to be releasing ‘Living Spree’. It’s an uplifting, feel-good R&B song about getting over heartbreak and living life to the fullest.’
Underlining Rosa Raye’s effervescence personality is a live poolside session video, filmed and edited by Jeppe Steenfeldt-Jensen (see top video).
