When looking for Swedish sung songs with originality and playful soundscapes we are increasingly turning to Diza Guava. Singles such as Osagt, Se dig online, and most recently Existensen, bring continued spins of enjoyment – together with watching her funky dance moves! Even within the expanse array of Swedish artists, it is challenging to compare her.
The upcoming artist, who recently featured in the SVT program PSL, has released her new, self-produced single Dör för dig (Die for you).
Many female artists are self-producing, and in a predominately male-dominated industry, the increase is often overlooked and more importantly celebrated.
Mellow in tempo, the wailing guitars chords are provided by her cousin Desmond Leonard, and Diza shines with a creatively layered electro-soul production.
As always I produced the track on my own, and I have carefully chosen the sounds and tried to create a sensual and passionate world for the listener to enter, says Diza.
For none Swedish speakers, the theme has many dimensions, exploring accepting the feeling of non-exclusivity in sexual relationships, disappointment, and attraction. (Special thanks to Diza for helping translate the Swedish!)
With the hope of a forthcoming video, we’ll update this page when it arrives!
