DJ Mr C (aka Andy Collins) will join UK radio station Floradio in a syndicated partnership for a new, bi-weekly two-hour show – Beneath The Ice.
Floradio has been at the forefront of the music scene for over a decade, supporting independent artists and DJ’s in soul, reggae and dance. The online community radio station was formed through the love of music by a group of like-minded DJs. Their motto is to take you on a “Musical Journey” enriched by culture, fluid in form and direction.
Working with Andy Collins from scandinaviansoul.com, their partnership will offer a space for Scandinavian soul to reach new listeners in the UK and a wider global audience.
‘I’m delighted to be on the airwaves with Floradio’ said Andy Collins, who is originally from England. ‘It’s been a dream to get back on the airwaves after doing a show several years back. I’ve been a long time listener to Flo and so honoured to be part of the Floradio family! My show (Beneath The Ice) aims to awaken people to all the still undiscovered Scandinavian soulful artists and music in the best format – radio. Broadcasting live, from Sweden!”
FLORADIO welcomes eclectic new sounds
Floradio is already the home of top DJ’s such a GQ Toyboy, Tukker and Rich Chocolate. A supporter of scandinaviansoul.com since its inception, Rich Chocolate’s Sunday morning shows always contains the latest Scandinavian Soul releases among his global soul and jazz cut selections.
Floradio CEO Adrian said:
“Floradio is a multicultural station and is honoured to welcome DJ Mr C from Scandinavian Soul to the family. We are a progressive music station sharing sweet vibrations around the globe, putting artists and creators first. Andy Collins, aka “Mr C”, has been an appreciative listener for many years. It is fitting that he now brings his musical expression to the fore, spreading New Scandinavian Soul, rubbed up with eclectic offerings and much-needed entertainment by way of his “Beneath The Ice Show”.
The Scandinavian Soul Scene brings a new sound into the mix. It is also a much welcomed syndicated partnership as part of our development and drives to form solid collaborative relationships, focusing on supporting various musical genres.”
The first show starts May 6 Thursday’s 12-2 pm GMT/1-3 pm EST – bi-weekly
