Newcomer Franka Oroza stuns alongside icons Cold Diamond & Mink / Indecision

Looking out over a rainy and gray Uppsala today, we are even more excited to present for the first time on Scandinavian Soul Franka Oroza. And yes, she’s from Bobby ‘the Finnish king of cool’ Oroza‘s musical family, sends brightness and warmth from Finland with her astonishing debut single, Indecision. With her she has Scandinavian Soul icons Cold Diamond & Mink, whose sound is behind many Scandi Soul classics.

And this collaboration is truly one for all playlists.

The two artistries marry together perfectly, ending up in a song that seems like John Mayer and Joni Mitchell’s love child. The relaxing grooves, and especially the prominent guitar, share similarities to some of John Mayer’s most memorable work. The beautiful vocals of Franka Oroza have many similarities with Joni Mitchell, especially when it comes to the use and combination of the different vocal registers. Simply stunning!

In a musical world where most of the music that reaches the charts can seem quite overpowering and overworked, with complicated vocals fighting against even more complicated arrangements, this gem offers a breath of fresh air and a haven we can return to again and again. As well as the lyrics, the song is as far away as it can come from clichés and templates.
