Danish band D/troit slow the pace from their recent dynamic and energetic rock tribute singles to a calming speed with – Let Me Put My Love Into You.
The new single features sweet horns, their retro-soul arrangement and a couples’ slow dancing rhythm.
The sexual connotations make this slow-burner a steamy affair even if the text context is more romance related than physical – we’re not quite in the Minnie Riperton – Inside My Love zone.
The Nordics are not known as sexually repressive culture, however, expressing it musically without sounding ‘cheesy, or fake’ has meant many artists evade the subject directly. Recently though, more soulful sounds from the North have written from an intimate perspective (Selma Judith, Chika Dole) and as D/troit prove there are many ways to express love and bring people closer together.
Available on 7″ vinyl – Let There Be Rock features on the B-side. Buy here.
