Indulge your senses in the soulfulness of Najadi‘s debut single, ‘Wake up and Smell the Coffee,’ – a refreshing blend that resonates with the spirit.
This debut encourages listeners to seize the day and embrace its possibilities. Najadi’s velvety voice delivers an uplifting and motivating message, prompting reflection on the abundant blessings many of us forget to enjoy.
Behind the moniker Najadi is Danish artist Martin Møller, formerly a member of the beloved disbanded band Djeff. The echoes of Djeff’s classic album “In Bloom” (2017) still linger in the hearts of Scandinavian soul enthusiasts, with its groovy tunes created by talented musicians.
Embarking on a solo journey, Najadi shares his musical evolution.
“I’ve been brewing my own music for a while. My soulful style draws inspiration from iconic artists like Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, and Donny Hathaway.”
This soulful vibe emanates from the song ‘Wake up and Smell the Coffee‘ at its organic beginnings:
“I woke up with the Rhodes melody in the intro/chorus one morning and sat at my piano for hours, capturing the essence around the melody in the chords. The rest of the song seemed to write itself. With the melody came the realisation that maybe I didn’t have to be so blue – there was so much to be thankful for.”
Teaming up with bass player Christoffer Holm Clausen, another former Djeff member, Najadi presents a soulful delight to savour.
The only missing ingredient? Perhaps a delectable treat from one of Denmark’s renowned bakeries.
