Shaqdi searches for a way to overcome anxiety in her new video and single, 5 Days.
More and more of us can recognise the feeling of our internal batteries feeling thoroughly drained and empty only to be replaced with an increase in fear and phobias. The world outside our door suddenly becomes daunting, and everything feels like an effort. R&B/soul singer/songwriter Shaqdi summaries her debilitating battle in her latest release with honesty and revealing charm. Her unmistakable soothing tone always endears fused with a mellow lo-fi sound.

Despite her enforced self-isolation, Shaqdi’s attempts to reload in the excellent video only leads to cold pizza, playing with popcorn and watering her cactus. Interestingly, it’s not very often we see the Swedish songstress smile, so when she does it comes as a surprise and it looks good on her.
I can’t find the motivation
I just wanna quit,
I just, I just wanna quit this
Shy away in isolation
When I feel like shit, when I,
when I feel like shit I can’t be happy I can’t pretend
’cause when I get anxiety my colours turn to grey
So I turn to self-medication
Writing in this authentic manner brings truth back to music. It’s where we hear stories an artist wants to tell. Real is the new now.
