When we first introduced Sofia Loise a few weeks back, it was clear she had something special. Now, with her latest single, ‘Sant eller Ursant?‘ (True or False?), she’s reminding us all why she’s an artist to discover.
Describing Sofia’s latest release she said, “This song means a lot to me and my producer, Oscar Bondø. We spent countless late-night hours mixing it in our home studio. But beyond the technical work, the message really hits home.” And it’s a message many will resonate with. After all, we’ve all felt that post-summer haze—left confused by the loss of the magic of warm evenings and golden sunsets.
“Sant eller Ursant? is about those undefined relationships where you just can’t let each other go, yet you can’t quite make it work either,” Sofia explains.
The Oslo-based artist offers a mellow, soulful track that radiates warmth. The song flows effortlessly, shifting midway through in a way that keeps you hooked. It’s as if the heat of summer has soaked into the notes themselves. There’s even a subtle Indian touch in the melody—something that makes the track even more intriguing, though maybe that’s just my take.
Sofia adds, “It’s also about realising your own value—making demands and refusing to be treated like a yo-yo, always pushed away and then pulled back in.” That raw, soulful honesty is what sets her apart and makes her music so addictive. Yet somehow, despite her obvious talent, Sofia remains one of the year’s most overlooked discoveries in the Scandi soul scene.
As with so many new releases, Sant eller Ursant? could easily be swept away in the flood of music that comes and goes. But Sofia Loise’s work stands out. Her music doesn’t just request your attention—it demands it.
