The Locomotive, an emerging music collective consisting of 18 musicians from Norway and the USA, have just released their debut single Mysterious – and it’s a carriage full of vintage soul.
Inspired by 60s pop and southern soul Mysterious serves a big band sound and authentic Southern soul chords. This classic soul single’s raw and powerful tone is fuelled by Tricia Boutté‘s vocals. With sweet horns and harmonious backing vocals, the chorus is catchy and the energetic pace will encourage even the most reluctant dancers to let loose!
Produced by Amund Sæter (Awon, Son of Light, Alien Breed) and written by Atle Skogrand, this single would be right at home on the Blues Brothers soundtrack.
The Locomotive intend to continue to craft their arrangements with a “vintage-modern” expression – the finest of both worlds and Mysterious is the ideal debut departure.
Taken from their upcoming album ‘Harmonic Railways‘, we suggest getting on this soul train!
