A healing touch and a solid serving of jazzy groove underline Amalie Brydes’ new single Aloe to Your Vera (feat. edbl).
The London based Danish artist has always sought to explore the brevity of the English language to expresses her thoughts on femininity, society and relationships and mental health issues. Amalies’ debut EP Lay Down holds as a testimonial to soulful music with a message.
In her latest release, written by Amalie Bryde and produced by edbl, the subject is her way of reaching out to those in need of soothing guidance, though understanding change can only come from within.
“I cannot heal you, only self-compassion can, I’ll help with the direction”.
The metaphor is drawn to Aloe Vera which stand for beauty, healing and protection to the support Amalie is trying to give and let them feel.
The jazz-twisted production almost steals the show here with a delectable bass line as rich and creamy as the title.
While the sentence ‘Aloe to Your Vera‘ may cause literature scholars to scratch their heads they’ll be sure to understand this groove.
