Wait. Is it a warm Sunday morning?
It suddenly feels like one.
As Ta din tid, ANKAH’s new Danish-sung single drifts in, the twinkling lights of Christmas fade away. What replaces them is something soft. A sense of early light, still air, and calmness before the day begins.
In a tense, fast-moving climate, ANKAH chooses restraint. Her single has jazz-tinged piano lines, an organic flow, and an intimate vocal delivery inviting the listener to slow down. The track unfolds patiently, with subtle dynamic shifts and a mid-track tempo change that gives the five-minute runtime a new dynamic, while providing space to stretch and breathe.
Musically, ‘Ta din tid‘ moves between Neo-soul, R&B, and Indie pop. Singing in her mother tongue adds closeness (even for non-Danish speakers), with Jon Døssing (Abekejser) supplying atmospheric piano work that deepens the song’s spacious feel. The production keeps things clear and uncluttered, placing ANKAH’s voice and melodic instincts front and centre.
Following our recent premiere of her previous single and video Store Spørgsmål, ANKAH once again shows a willingness to let music take it’s own shape. No rush. No radio format. Just trust the song and its message. This is the art of music.
Ta din tid is another glimpse of ANKAH’s upcoming debut album. One we already know deserves to be heard, slowly.
