The festive seasonal songs records are vast. However, several remain the ‘seasons’ standards. White Christmas, Let it Snow, and This Christmas, for example, will always evoke the past, future and present spirit of Christmas.
Too often, however, they are overplayed so cover versions present a perfect chance to freshen the airwaves and embrace a reimagined classic. Adding their unique touch to a Christmas classic is Finnish soul/disco band Beverly Girl – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
Originally recorded by Judy Garland in 1944, the glittering, ’80s groove band keep the tempo smooth and update the production as Yohanna Kristiina delivers her rich, soulful vocals. Released with a video (see above) their greeting twinkles and shimmers with Beverly Girl‘s fabulous touch of glam.
The single follows the band well-received and great looking album The Unstoppable Force which illuminated the dancefloor with their pink coloured grooves.
