The seriousness of the Coronavirus Pandemic has been crippling the livelihood for all independent artists. And with no end in current sight, alternative income sources are being explored.
An example is British/Danish artist Bobby Bovell (Public Secret) who launched his new project on Patreon, a crowdfunding app/website.
‘This page allows my worldwide tribe to fund me as an independent recording artist‘ says Bobby.
Through a selection of payment levels, subscribers are rewarded with a choice of behind-the-scenes insights, songwriting or creativity tips, exclusive album merch and more.

“I believe music is more than an optional extra, and it is essential for cultural expression, well being, good mental health, and reminds us to feel things. Come with me through the portal to another world of inspiration. I’m writing songs, exploring the art of songwriting, and developing a new album for your listening pleasure.”
ONLINE EVENTS
With venues indefinitely closed many artists and bands have also opted to stream their events. Some behind paywalls, while many are free. Websites such as NPR and Gaffa now have lists of virtual events, and we will soon bring you those happening in the ‘scandisoul’ circle.
Are you are an artist/band and hosting an online event? Just let us know.
