Newly formed Danish duo Canvases have released their first single, ‘Mistakes’, and deliver soul satisfaction.
‘Mistakes’ use an ideal arrangement to describe a painful breakup. The verses are groovy with a backbeat piano and strong retro vibe before erupting in an explosive chorus with more than just a hint of rock! But stay tuned, soul lovers! This, combined with superb vocals, unexpected and dynamic contrasts, and a soulful take throughout, makes this track a true powerhouse.
Radio stations seeking music that speaks to everyone should start here.
This song is impressive, even without knowing any backstory. However, knowing that the song was written and produced by the duo in their small studio in Denmark makes it even more impressive. Behind Canvases is British/Danish singer-songwriter Chris Catton (vocals, keys, production) and Danish multi-instrumentalist Morten Bille (guitar, bass, production) and their skilled musicianship shines through.
This debut creates an ideal entrance for this talented duo. We can’t wait to hear their first EP released later this autumn, and we eagerly await more from Canvases in the future.
