Out now is the soulful/R&B single ‘Be Real’ and is the first collaboration between Swedish producer Rasmus Faber and Greek singer-songwriter Metaxas.
Described as a nu-disco slow jam the single is indeed warm and smooth with a with laid back electronic synths and a beachside summer feel. Metaxas provides engaging vocals as he highlights the importance of being genuine in a relationship.
Explaining the creation of the partnership Metaxas explains, “We got in touch through our mutual friend Alliz Espi, and I ended up sending Metaxas this slow instrumental track I had. He came back to me with a killer vocal he wrote and recorded, and it worked straight away! We went back and forth on it a bit, and I could tell Metaxas shared my sense of perfectionism which I really appreciate! We’ve been talking about recording a live version of this song too, which would actually be the first time we met in person. Gotta make that happen, that would be magical!” – Rasmus Faber
“Be Real’ is a song about dialling back the individuality in relationships and the empty promises. It is a reality check on the basic human needs of love and selfless support of each other.”
