Two different soulful sounds were represented in the dark, underground bar at Pet Sounds in Stockholm this week (10 September) with Cosima and Rohey.
Swedish singer Cosima, who recently released her debut EP “Head in the Clouds”, gave a wonderfully elegant show with her band: Ida Havsed – Piano, Olov Nordström – Bass, Simon Hammarbacken – Drums. We first captured Cosima during our Scandinavian Soul Studio Session video, and the singer continues to climb to new heights. Dressed in flowing white, the singer’s Nordic soulful vibe is always captivating.
Making their Swedish concert debut was Norwegian Band ROHEY who gave a simply stunning, energetic, and thoroughly stimulating performance! A cross between Nina Simone and Hiatus Kaiyote the band have an exciting blend of neo-soul with jazz, highlighted with sublime poetic lyrics.
We caught some ‘shaky’ footage of their superb track ‘Postcard with A Smile’ below:
Rohey are Kristian B. Jacobsen, Ivan Blomqvist (Keys), Rohey Taalah (lead vocals), and Henrik Lødøen.
Do not miss both of these bands! It’s really exciting times for soul in Scandinavia!
