Dolly Dolores hits a high / Night Time
A throwback fusion of the past when commercial radio only seemed to play timeless songs.
We were delighted when we heard Dolly Dolores was releasing a new single as her outstanding and haunting release – Dream, still strongly resonates.
Night Time resonates with a much brighter vibe but with equal impact.
Opening with a strong, dramatic beat and a distinctive instrumental intro, Night Time stands out from the very beginning. The listener can feel that it is an uplifting, and emotional sound, but that’s nothing compared to when Dolly Dolores begins to sing. Her deep and soulful voice will catch your attention effortlessly and yet with intensity simultaneously.
The singer’s voice depth and emotion through her voice beautifully gives life and a whole new dimension to this vulnerable track. The song expresses the feeling of utter desperation and the sheer pain of losing the one you love and does so in a strikingly explosive and hypnotic way.
Hearing this description, you would probably believe that we are writing about a power ballad. Actually, that couldn’t be further from the truth. ‘Night time‘ is a danceable track but with lyrics as deep as the ocean. Perhaps not the most common combination, but Dolores makes it match – like the sweetness of chocolate with a sprinkle of sea salt.

What is also striking about the song is that it seems to take the best out of several previous musical decades and put it all into one magnificent track. It has the powerful vocals of a 70s soul ballad, the funky groove from an 80s hit, and the distinctive and catchy 90s synths while keeping the perfection of modern studio productions.
We don’t often use the word ‘hit’ but if we ran a radio station, ‘Night Time‘ would be our definition of a hit song!
