After a six-year silence, Swedish artist and songwriter Dolly Dolores is back with a stunning new soulful pop single – Dream.
From pressing play, you’ll welcome a nostalgic, minimalist sound filled with unconventional instruments such as the Omnichord and a classical Ondes martenot synth, before Dolly Dolores’s wonderfully rich, warm, and soulful vocal pours over you.
The ’60s was a time for hope, love and imagination and many songs were released with the words Dream in the title; Daydream Believer, In Dreams, Dream Lover, California Dreamin’, etc. A historian would easily mistake Dolly Dolores’s retro-vibed composition Dream to exist in the same period and similarly urges repeatedly listens as it caresses and lovingly eases away stress.
Produced by Christopher Dominique (Bob Hund, Eggstone, Ola Salo) and released on indie label Domp Records, Dream is a cinematic and inspiring vintage lullaby. It has timelessness woven into every note.
Lyrically, Dolly Dolores urges young people to follow their dreams before the pressure of adulthood suffocates the joys in life.
Though making her first appearance with us, Dolly Dolores is back after six years of silence following her previous success in Swedish radio and television with the song “På måndag börjar jag igen”. Her resume includes collaborations with Swedish giants; The Ark, The Cardigans, Damn! and Eggstone.
Dolly Dolores is inspired by lofi indie and classic soul and doo-wop. Her new material results from deep soul searching and inspired by her failures and is in the process of completing a new album that will be released this autumn.
Dream already places in the ‘best of the year’ list.
And don’t miss the instrumental version! Yep, Dolly Dolores did everything right!
