Norwegian neo-soul band D’Sound provides Macy Grays’ distinctive raspy voice with the essential groove for her effervescent charm on their new single – Save Some.
D’Sound wrote this funky summer track with Macy Gray and Autumn Rowe (who wrote the mega-hit Salt with Ava Max) during the pandemic and recorded it in Oslo and LA.
The American R&B/soul singer-songwriter and actress became a global hit with tracks like I Try, Do Something and Still in the early ‘2000’s. Years later and her sweet voice is still as huggable as ever. Save Some is matched with a colourful video (see above), and the playful, uplifting vibes are a welcome contrast to the gloominess of last year.
D’Sound 25th anniversary
D’Sound’s debut single Real Name came out in 1996, and their debut album Spice of Life landed the following year. It launched their international career and a global fan base.
D’Sound consists of Kim Ofstad (drums) and Jonny Sjo (bass). The renowned songwriters, producers and musicians have collaborated with local Norwegian artists and international artists like CeeLO Green, Jason Derulo and Akon. The Norwegian Grammy award winners are also considered among the best live bands in Scandinavia.
This summer marks D’Sound’s 25th anniversary, and the celebration will include a string of new singles from their forthcoming album featuring an array of collaborations with artists, songwriters and musicians. Their ninth studio album, 25, is expected in January 2022.
