That’s a term I never would attempt to put down on paper prior to listening to this epic album.
Albin Gromer, a 21 year old Singer/Songwriter/Producer from the southern regions of Sweden (Malmö) debuts with an impressive collection of original tunes, after having an under/overground buzz for some time now.
There is a certain warmth in his original, distorted, staccato blip-blop productions to stand strong by themselves, but then an added element of live strings and a gospel-inspired voice defenitively seals the deal no matter preferred genre. Sure, there is an obvious heavy Prince touch, arrangement Songwise, but it is clear that this talented artist is developing a sound that is only going to be compared with him-damn-self.
Standout tracks on this disc are the West-coast flavoured bumpy “Jag Minns”, The dreamy “Här Inne Hos Mig” and “Tillsammans” and the quirky “För Det Är Du” with a retro but still current feel to it.
