Since her early teenage years, Swedish artist Janice has a long musical experience, with performances in some of Sweden’s biggest television shows, movie appearances and a Swedish Grammy nomination as parts of her resume. She even features in this month’s Swedish edition of Elle.

This year, a lead role as an actor in Netflix’s new series ‘The Playlist‘ is in store for her, to which she also contributes to the soundtrack. Her new single ‘Don’t Lay It All On Me‘ is lifted from the album.
It fits her perfectly and is tailored like an evening gown.
It starts beautifully soft, with a tender and modest piano setting the tone for the rest of the song. After a few bars, Janice joins in, caressing every note with a voice that matches the opening piano. You want to listen to every word she sings like an enchanting whisper.
The song has a slow but steady build-up. What sets it aside is that the crescendo is made entirely by Janice’s voice and strengthening harmonies and backup vocals, keeping the singer’s voice completely focused. It fits her perfectly and is tailored like an evening gown. There is no doubt this song was meant for her.
There’s nothing else to say about this new single other than that it is beautiful and warm, perfect to curl up on the sofa with a smoking hot cup of tea on a chilly autumn day. The stripped-down instrumental soundscape with a gentle piano combined with an atmospheric violin is exquisite perfection.
We look forward to both hearing from and seeing Janice on screen soon.
