American soul singer/actor, and adopted son into the Scandinavian soul world, Jay Nemor, has released his new video/single – Break Free.
We have warmly welcomed the Gothenburg based singer into our arms with singles such as Noise Pollution, Sunday Morning and his debut album – Just Sayin’ still spinning in our playlists.
We consider Music “Suite Soul” a Scandi soul classic.
The singer’s deep, velvety vocal style naturally draws comparison to the late great Gil Scott Heron. Jay also creates blues infused poetry from personal and social observations and expresses them with soulful arrangements. It’s where thoughtful connections through music happen. On his latest single Break Free, Jay together with Electrified, contemplates his life’s situation and a desire to escape his own borders.

Soul music ‘literally’ meets Scandinavia in his video where we see a shirtless Jay in a bitterly cold, and snowy Swedish forest, north of Stockholm. Additional footage filmed in the Italian countryside. Admirably, it is all shot by iPhone cameras.
