Ki! and Al Agami serve flowing soulful beats / Karma Flow
These artists' musical fusion produces a smooth soul/hip hop single.
Earlier this year, we wrote about Danish songwriter, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Ki! after he released the single ‘Happy‘. We adored his retro soul sound and mood-boosting vibe, which still regularly radiates from our speakers. His latest single, ‘Karma Flow‘, released on Crunchy Frog Records, featuring Danish Grammy-awarded artist Al Agami, is quickly joining it as a regular spinner.
While ‘Happy’ had a vintage soul vibe, ‘Karma Flow’ has a clear hip-hop sound, but with an equal measure of retro soul, engagingly fused. The beat captures from the first second, accompanied by a soulful and funky guitar. There are no doubts in our minds about the quality of Ki!(Christian Ki Dall) musicianship, as he has shown us how he can create epically rich soundscapes that draw on genres and styles from the past while reimagining them and creating a class of his own.
We cannot finish this article without praising Al Agami. His voice demands the listener’s attention without being aggressive or overwhelming. Instead, he delivers a warm and airy rap with a wonderfully raspy, deep voice, taking the song to even higher levels with emotion and skill.
After 4.33 minutes, we still want to hear it again and again.
