On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Scandinaviansoul.com returned to presenting the soulful sound of Scandinavia live at the Art4Change event in Saluhallen, Uppsala. It had been a while since we last hosted a show, and this opportunity was too good to miss. The artists more than lived up to the moment.
The evening began upstairs with Månen (The Moon), a Uppsala-based band we’ve been following since their early releases. Led by the delightful lead singer Martina Steffner, their set was both soulful and enchanting. Songs like Flo stood out as highlights, but every track carried a warmth that held the crowd’s attention. In a space filled with artists and painters, Månen set the perfect atmosphere, giving even first-time listeners a clear sense of what Scandinavian Soul is about.
The stage then welcomed a brilliant collective led by keyboardist, vocalist and multi-talented Josef Sjöblom — who not only performed but also worked as the evening’s sound engineer and photographer. He was joined by a group of equally gifted musicians: Vilma Ogenblad (keyboards, vocals), Joel Henry (bass, vocals), Jakob Klang (drums), Gustav Renberg (guitar), and Victor Brodin (vocals).
Each artist presented two or three of their own songs, creating a vibrant mix of soulful sounds. The charismatic Victor’s debut live performance of his new material had the audience instantly engaged. The catchiness of his songs effortlessly resonated with a new audience. Vilma brought elegance to the set with her warm delivery, and Joel’s single left us wanting to hear it again on the way home. Josef’s performance of Round and Round was another groove-filled highlight, showing why he’s at the heart of Uppsala’s creative scene.
The night ended with a spontaneous jam featuring painter/ musician Christopher Williams from Wisdom Creative Space, who joined the group for a funky finale that left the room buzzing.
On Uppsala’s biggest night of the year, this event once again proved that soulful talent thrives in Scandinavia.
We’d like to thank all the artists who made this evening so special. For many in the audience, this was their first taste of Scandinavian soul, and it left a lasting impression.
Follow these artists, explore their music, and keep up with us on Instagram for more soulful moments to come.
