As Malu explained,
“I’ve spent the past year digging into my own story, making my music more personal. I used to be unconsciously guided by others’ expectations, but with these new songs, I’m allowing myself to write about things I’d normally keep to myself—and for the first time, my roots and my full name have a place in my music. Souvenir is about opening a new chapter, traveling out into the world alone—and realising you don’t miss your old life back home as much as you feel you should.”
With a voice as warm and inviting as a cozy blanket on a cold autumn day, Malu blends Mediterranean bossa nova rhythms, delicate piano, and a classic French accordion into a chorus that could melt an ice cream cone in December.
