“Run Back Home to Mama” – Brooklyn Soul Stew (SWE)

2014 saw the largest growth in soul music from Scandinavia, and a few new releases flew under our radar such as Brooklyn Soul Stew, who hail from Gävle, Sweden who released their single “Run Back Home to Mama” on Riverside Records in late November.

Brooklyn Soul Stew are primarily a cover band spreading soulful joy around Sweden. Led by lead singer Annsofi Wigert, this song is about a deceived and exploited woman.

”Run Back Home to Mama” will be released on their second album, expected later this year.
