Swedish artist Steph has graced Swedish TV screens and playlists, but she’s more than deserving of centre stage. And with her latest single, Insecure, she takes another step toward the spotlight where she belongs.
Produced by Gabriel Drew and featuring Larrenwong, Insecure is the kind of sultry duet that usually resides in U.S. R&B charts. Steph’s smooth, effortless vocals glide over a lush arrangement, channeling the essence of ‘90s slow jams—the kind that made you close your eyes and just feel. Larrenwong matches her with a refined, soulful response, while the space in the production lets every note breathe, drawing you in before layers of harmonies, soft guitar chords, and silky vocal textures wrap around you.
This is R&B done right—seductive, polished, and undeniably smooth. Steph’s velvet tones have never sounded so intoxicating.
Steph’s musical journey began in 2017 when she moved to London to deepen her craft, and since then, she has performed on stages in London, Copenhagen, and her hometown, Malmö. Her reputation continues to rise—she was featured on Grammy-winning artist Jaqe’s album Filmen in 2021, and her 2023 EP Love Seasons (Pt.1) landed on major Spotify playlists like New Music Friday across Scandinavia. That same year, she earned a nomination for “Årets Musik” (the years best music) at the Malmö Prize by Nöjesguiden.
Now, Steph kicks off 2024 stronger than ever. Insecure is the first single from her upcoming EP, set for release this spring. She recently opened for Mapei and will take the stage at Soho House Stockholm’s R&B Brunch on February 22nd.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, pour the red wine, dim the lights, and add Insecure for a evening perfect setting.
