Swedish singer Tilde returns after a long hiatus with a track that demands your full emotional attention. Based in Gothenburg, she has delivered a song that isn’t just moving — it’s unfiltered, vulnerable, and steeped in bluesy openness. If you’re in a fragile emotional state, tread carefully.
For those unfamiliar with Tilde she first made a name for herself in 2018 with her debut album Nothing Gold Can Stay, created in collaboration with BRIT Award-winning producer Pedro Ferreira. Widely praised by the music press, us included, the album’s title track was even named one of the “Top 10 Best Songs Released in Gothenburg” over the past decade by Göteborgsposten.
Now, she returns with an announcement of an upcoming album she describes as her most personal yet.

“On my previous albums, I’ve only shown a small part of myself. My lyrics have revolved around different love relationships, with some elements of existential anxiety. The existential anxiety remains, but I’ve realised that my perspective has broadened, that the stories have become more varied. ‘Anywhere But Here’ is an example of this.
It comes from a true place within me, a tender spot that still aches, which is probably why it feels extra special. It deals with something I still struggle with today—my inner restlessness, my inability to find peace within myself, my constant urge to escape—and how this feeling always catches up with me, no matter where I am in the world.”

‘Anywhere But Here’ carries the same soul-stirring essence The Magnolia, one of Sweden’s greatest soul bands, once captured. It’s a folk-blues piece that doesn’t just brush against your emotions, but pierces straight through them. Every note, every lyric feels like a gentle, knowing touch on your heartstrings, your tear ducts, your very core.
The melody alone is heartbreakingly beautiful.
‘Anywhere But Here‘ captures a feeling we’ve all known, especially in times like these. A need to escape.
It’s a stunning return from an artist who knows how to make you feel every word.
Close your eyes, listen, and let this one sink in. But keep a tissue handy.
