Norwegian-Nigerian singer EHI has, from the beginning of his career, stated that he wants to convey emotions and vulnerability through his music and that he sees music as a platform to reach out to people. When we listen to his new single, Ain’t Nobody, we can hear this purpose in every tone. The song moves the listener, reaching through the speakers and almost cocooning the room it’s played in.
We are also honoured to premiére the official video, directed by Bjørnar Strømsholm. (See above).
The single is undoubtedly a soul song, but an acoustic one. It has all the rhythm and beat of a full band soul track but without the support from a clear beat or a heavy bass line, which is impressive. It is also highly listenable, one we doubt anyone would genuinely dislike. On the contrary, this seems like the type of song that appeals to a broad audience.
However, we cannot share this song without commenting – or rather praising – the stunning voice of EHI. He has an authentic R&B/soul voice, with impeccable vocal control that he shows proof of, not the least through his excellent vocal runs in the chorus.
EHI is a talented singer with a gorgeous song that truly allows his voice to shine.
