Today, we are delighted to present the video premiere for Jasmine Kara’s new single – Jag skiter i allt.
The multi-talented artist goes back to her roots with a retro-soul rocking single sung in Swedish and electrified with emotion. Jag skiter i allt, (which Google humorously translates as ‘I shit in everything”), is more accurately translated as ‘I don’t care anymore or I don’t give a shit about it’ – drives with the energy and the passion of the statement with Jasmine’s powerful and distinguished vocals at the heart.
Written by Jasmine Kara, Peter Kvint and Albin Lee Meldau (The Magnolia), the song is about everything we are fed daily; about how to think and behave to be “normal”. How to calm your anxiety, and how to constantly strive for a better life instead of living your life as it is.
The singer has always fought against the ordinary, seeking to define her own identity, making this track a perfect fit for her rebellious attitude.
Having sung predominately in English and even occasionally Spanish, Jasmine described the transition to Swedish.
“Making music in Swedish is a completely different thing. It comes straight from the heart and it becomes even more real because it is my mother tongue and the language I am thinking of. It also feels extra fantastic to be able to do this type of music in Swedish and through a collaboration with two great role models such as Peter Kvint and Albin Lee Meldau.”
Accompanied by an energetic band and the backdrop of Stockholm’s skyline, the monochrome style icon is at her bluesy best, reminiscent of the Jasmine Kara, who stormed the world with her 2010 album ‘Blues Aint Nothing But A Good Woman Gone Bad‘.
Directed by Nathan Grace and Jasmine Kara, the songstress delivers a single that’s catchy, ballsy and damn good.
This good woman’s gone bad…again. And we love it!
