The title track from Jonas Winge Leisner‘s newly released EP STICKY now gets a playful official video.
The EP is a collection of tracks, each inspired by his musical influences such as Curtis Mayfield (Hustler), Leroy Hudson (Wrapped in Your Love), and D’Angelo (Another World is Calling). It’s a successfully ambitious project.
Musically and visually, Sticky seems to draw a parallel to Peter Gabriels’ single Sledgehammer (which has a bassline my ’80s TV failed to convey at the time).
In the video (see top) the stop-animation style of Jonas’s movements with post-it covered dancers make an equally entertaining combination driven by a funky melody and his superb falsetto soulful vocals.
Jonas has been an essential voice in the Danish soul and R&B scene for the past two decades with an impressive resumé that includes features on movie soundtracks, million streaming singles and sold-out shows with legendary funk-collective RIDIN’ THUMB. The EP STICKY marks his first solo project built entirely with real instruments, organic and homegrown production.
