Danish-Cypriot singer/songwriter Alexia Chambi has released a soulful new single – Tiny Hands.
Don’t worry, we hadn’t heard of Alexia Chambi either before this release, but we’re now taking serious note.
Tiny Hands has a subtle blend of neo-soul with warming chords, and Alexias’ voice cradles you with delicate emotion. The theme of a song is about losing time with loved ones while following one’s dreams in other places.
In recent years the term ‘tiny hands’ has been ‘poisoned’ by a particular President, but here, Alexia reclaims the words with a soothing, loving tone and words that stir the imagination of the past and future.
Lyric videos can be rather uninteresting yet Alexia’s visuals of Tiny Hands by Rigmor Anna Reher (see top video) is yes, simple, and yet so mesmerising!
The track is also the closest to a ‘Lovers Rock single’ I’ve heard in the Nordics!
Alexia Chambi was born on a small island in the middle of Denmark. The Danish-Cypriot singer/songwriter fell in love with creating, crafting and performing from an early age. Since aged 11, she has been passionately writing songs and developing her musicality.
Her late teens saw Alexia take long journeys across Europe and South America, which matured her both personally and musically. She landed in London for two years, where she played solo concerts accompanied by an acoustic guitar performing city-wide while honing her craft.
She released a collaborative alt-pop EP ‘Hanging on a Scar‘ with British indie artist Ralph Taylor in 2016 and went on to release her debut solo EP titled ‘Bolivia‘ in 2018.
After playing a string of concerts across Europe in early 2019, she returned home to Denmark and is currently based in Aarhus.
2020 will see Alexia with a full live band for the first time creating a new dimension to her previously acoustic-based project, exploring neo-soul and contemporary R&B influences in the instrumentals.
Alexia’s previously released single/video Juice You is below so you can continue to embrace her wonderfully honest and authentic sound.
