D/troit return in search of love / I Want You

Polish the shoes, straighten the tie and zip up the dress, Danish band D/troit return with a new ballad cut, and our attire should be as immaculate as the single.

Hailing from Copenhagen, D/troit arrived in 2015 and immediately proved an alternative and genuine soul band could thrive in the modern music world, entertaining audiences with energetic live shows and the thrill of the band’s stage dynamics.

I Want You preserves their authentic retro sound. The recording feels lifted off a vintage reel-to-reel as the raspy lead vocals of Toke Bo Nisted extracts the soul from his heart. Opening with the beating pulse of piano notes, it sets a haunting ambience before connecting to a tight arrangement beneath lyrics of an imploring soul.

Toke Bo Nisted is a man seeking love, but his pleas remain unanswered in this bluesy soul single.

I Want You is the first single from the bands’ forthcoming second album Heavy, due on or around June 3, 2022. The album will be available on Vinyl in Black and Orange, released on Crunchy Frog Records. And continuing their history of epic vintage designs, the cover art by We Don’t Like Art is stunning!
