Ok, basically, we did!
As we were caught up in the whirlwind and excitement of the Scandinavian Soul Music Awards, several delectable tracks were uploaded and released, and we couldn’t let you pass these gems by!
Z.Woods (SWE) – Fireworks
Swedish R&B Award nominee, Z.Woods, kicks us off with his new single ‘Fireworks’, taken from his upcoming EP, titled Malmo, 1pm. Catchy and perfectly mixed for Radio, Mr Woods consistently produces high-quality tracks, and you really should listen to his back catalog.
Marie Dahlstrom (DK) – Crashing Down
SSMA winner, Marie Dahlstrom, dropped a smooth downtempo track ‘Crashing Down’, produced by Joe Garrett and mixed by Qmillion. As gracefully vocal as always, Marie, who is studying her Masters, produces another grade A track.
Stina Stenerud (N) – Close Your Eyes
Norwegian singer, Stina Stenerud, released a catchy and enjoyable track, titled ‘Close Your Eyes’. Stina Stenerud & her Soul Replacement say they make Scandinavian Soul with a twist! We say keep twisting it! ‘Close your eyes’ is out now.
SoulSwede (SWE) – Be
When did you last get 6.5 minutes of happiness? A while, huh! Ok, then let’s see what we can do?
Swedish band, Neoholics, blew up the Scandi Soul scene in 2014 when they landed, and if you’ve been missing their vibe, like we have, follow SoulSwede (aka The Neoholics). They posted a new track ‘Be’ that left us satisfied…well, until their debut album arrives, hopefully, later this year!
Melody Carlsson (SWE) – Över nu
And wrapping up is a Gothenburg-based singer, Melody Carlsson, who we’re watching closely. Her electronic, soulful/pop appears in our playlist with her Swedish sung track – ‘Över nu’.
