D’Sound bring sweet vibrations / Aftershock
The needle is firmly in the sunshine groove as Norwegian band D’Sound preceded their forthcoming album with the new single / Video – Aftershock.
D’Sound may have a new lead singer, Mirjam Omdal but they’ve lost none of their charm and ability to create infectious rhythms. Simone Eriksrud shoes were large to fill, however, Mirjam has seamlessly taken up the reins, and this pop/funk single has commercial vibes to uplift any tired radio playlist. Mirjam writes both the new material and the lyrics with Kim Ofstad (Drums) and Jonny Sjo (bass). The studio shot video also captures the full band brilliantly.
The uptempo of – Aftershock evokes an immediate feel-good factor, despite the subject of the lyrics being rejection. I always love this juxtaposition between text and beat.
The new D’Sound album ‘Unicorn‘, which will feature several guests, lands on Sept 6 and this single feels like a taste of more good things to come.
